The representatives of nineteen countries have presented their songs tonight in the Second Semi-Final of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. The theme of the show, presented by Jovana Janković and Željko Joksimović, The theme of the Second Semi-Final was “Water”. During one particular break, a viedo clip showing Serbian tennis star Ana Ivanovic welcomed viewers to her home city of Belgrade.
The following countries have qualified for the Final of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest:

Denmark
Sweden
Latvia
Turkey
Portugal

Novak Djokovic opened Voting for Best European Song

The best Serbian Tennis player Novak Djokovic opened voting for best European Song in first semifinal of ESC 2008. He told that it is great pleasure for him to open to take a part in this great Show in his hometown. After he opened voting Europe voted 15 minutes for their favorites and there are 10 finalist that Europe choose:

Simon Mathew: First rehearsal at the Belgrade Arena

Simon Mathew was convinving today in his first rehearsal at the Belgrade Arena. Simon’s natural charm and vocal capabilities are unquestionable, and he seems more or less ready for the second Semi-Final on 22th of May.

Simon Mathew’s performance is simple, though energetic, and together with his band, they perform All Night Long very impressively. Besides Simon, the band consists of two male guitar players, a keyboard player, a drummer and a female backing singer. The performance is similar to the one at the Danish national selection, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2008, but of course Simon had to find out how to move around on the stage at the Belgrade Arena in collaboration with the Danish delegation. Simon’s vocal performance is brilliant, and the way he flirts with the camera will indeed help him on the way to reach the Final on 24th of May. Simon wears a white shirt, braces and a vintage hat, and all of this help to create a feeling of being back in the 1950’s

Morena’s official blog just launched

Morena’s official blog has launched the Vodka Teaser Countdown. The idea behind this concept is that day by day a new photograph will be published, revealing a clue and small detail about Morena’s outfit for Belgrade. The idea is to keep people guessing, but also give a small indication of what to expect!.
The Maltese delegation will be heading for Belgrade on the 13th of May, and Morena will be taking the stage for her first rehearsal of the song Vodka on the 14th May. A farewell party will be organized on the 12th May in Malta and will be hosted by the Minister for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Ms Dolores Cristina. This has been traditional in past years, enabling the Maltese public to wave goodbye and wish good luck to their Eurovision Song Contest entrant.

No one else but former Eurovision Song Contest winner Celine Dion has a message for the fans of the Eurovision Song Contest and the 43 participants of the upcoming competition in Belgrade. But something is… different about this video that Eurovision.tv received…
As a young girl, the Canadian Céline Dion won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988 on behalf of Switzerland, with the power ballad Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi. The year after, she opened the contest with her new single, Where Does My Heart Beat Now, which became a hit across Europe.
